“The Mountaintop” at TheatreWorks
Tufts Alumni San Francisco
When: Thursday, March 07, 2013, 9:00 pm (iCal)
Tufts Alumni San Francisco invites you to a production of the exciting and controversial new play, Katori Hall’s The Mountaintop. The setting is a Memphis motel, 1968. First night for a sassy maid—last for an icon of our time, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. fresh from the speech of a lifetime. In a breathtaking journey beyond realism, this provocative London/Broadway hit imagines the night before tragedy, burnishing a legend while revealing the flesh-and-blood man behind it. Humorous, magical, it is a daring rumination on life, legacy, and conviction that connects each of us in a remembrance of unforgettable things past.
Contains mature language.
A portion of the proceeds for this event will go to Tufts Alumni San Francisco, and the rest will benefit the outreach work done by TheatreWorks at schools in East Palo Alto.
Act quickly! There are a limited number of tickets available!
