When: Sunday, June 23, 2013, 11:00 am - 1:30 pm (iCal)

Join Tufts Environmental Alumni (TEA) in a spring walking tour at Breakheart Reservation, a 640-acre hardwood forest with jagged, rocky outcroppings, two fresh-water lakes, and a rambling section of the Saugus River. Seven rocky hills, over 200 feet high, provide vistas of Boston, southern New Hampshire, and central Massachusetts. An extensive trail system through the woodlands guides visitors to various areas of the reservation. In addition to its natural resources, the reservation has a rich cultural history.

Walking Tour: 10:00am - 11:30am
Lunch Outdoors: 11:30am - 12:30pm
Sandwiches (with vegetarian options), cookies, and lemonade will be provided.

When you arrive, please park in the Ocean City Job Lot/Target parking lot just beyond the Breakheart entrance on Lynn Parkway heading east toward Rte 1. Alison Simcox (AG98) and Douglas Heath will begin the walking tour with a stroll along their proposed "Cultural Heritage Trail." The Cultural Heritage walk will end at the Breakheart Visitor Center, where the group will meet Ranger Dan Donovan for a Natural History walk up Breakheart Hill and to Pierce Lake.

Copies of Alison and Doug's new book, Breakheart Reservation, will be available for sale after the walk.

From north or south, take Rte. 1 to Lynn Fells Parkway exit, follow Lynn Fells Parkway a short distance, and park in the Ocean State Job Lot / Target parking lots.
