Description
Please join Tufts Alumni Philadelphia, a chapter of the Tufts University Alumni Association, for a special evening with Sol Gittleman, Alice and Nathan Gantcher University Professor and former senior Vice President and Provost of Tufts University at the National Liberty Museum. Come early and take a tour of the museum while enjoying cocktails, appetizers and the company of fellow Tufts alumni.
The debate about who should be welcomed to this country has raged from the moment the first Pilgrim placed foot on Plymouth Rock. Featured guest Sol Gittleman will give a talk during the reception entitled American Immigration from 1620 to the Present: Some Things Never Change. In this discussion, Sol acknowledges that, as Americans, we have a short memory of our migratory past, forgetting that we are a nation comprised of immigrants. He challenges us to remember that except for Native Americans, everyone in America traces a heritage that started somewhere else.
