Location: Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution
86 Water St.
Woods Hole, MA 02543 | See Map

When: Wednesday, August 09, 2017, 10:30 am - 1:00 pm (iCal)

Take a tour of Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution’s shore facility and vessels (work schedule permitting) led by Jack Whitehead, E63, Scientist Emeritus of WHOI. In port is the R/V Atlantis, the tender of the submersible Alvin, which is being rebuilt in the adjacent shops. On the dock, there will be various devices being prepared for scientific work at sea. We will be permitted to visit the ship if work allows it, or simply we will watch as “sidewalk superintendents” if there is a lot of work being done on Atlantis.

Our tour will be followed by a luncheon buffet at the Flying Bridge Restaurant, 220 Scranton Ave., overlooking Falmouth Harbor.

Tour begins at 10:30 am with lunch commencing at 12 pm. The Cold Buffet includes: fresh turkey, roast beef, ham, salami, and assorted cheeses, chicken salad, Caesar salad, pasta salad, tuna salad, fruit, baskets of freshly baked rolls and breads, mud pie, coffee, and tea.

We hope to see you there!
