Colombia is back as a must-visit destination. Join our Tufts alumni and friends on an 11-day adventure into the birthplace of magical realism. We’ll experience its diverse cultures, rich heritage, lush landscapes, and Caribbean warmth. Discover the fascinating museums and markets of Bogota. Journey to the heart of the Coffee Triangle. Wander through cloud forests where Andean condors soar. Roam the cobblestone streets of a 500-year-old walled city. We’ll come to know this remarkable country as few travelers know it. And in the process, we’re sure to come under its spell. For those of us who don’t want the magic to end, there’s even a post-program option to explore alluring Cartagena on our own for two additional nights.

Itinerary

Join us on an 11-day adventure in the land of magical realism

      • Experience the bustling marketplaces, unique museums, and Spanish Colonial heritage of Bogota

      Explore the Coffee Triangle and sip some of the world’s finest coffee

    Trek through cloud forests in search of rare flora and fauna, including Andean condors

    • Immerse yourself in the magic of Medéllin, “City of Eternal Spring”

      • Have lunch with a local family in a farming community high in the Colombian mountains

    • Stroll 500-year-old streets in Cartagena’s walled colonial city, a UNESCO World Heritage site

    • Engage in experience-enriching talks and discussions with our expected Tufts faculty host,

    • Take a traditional horse-drawn carriage ride to our farewell dinner
