Itinerary
Day 1, Thursday March 15
Evening departure from Logan Airport, where we board our direct Iceland Air service to Iceland.
Day 2, Friday March 16
After arriving in Iceland early this morning we will be met at the airport and escorted to our hotel in Reykjavik. This afternoon we tour Reykjavik’s Old Town, shopping districts, Parliament, Hofdi House, Hallgrim’s church and much more! Tonight we will gather for a welcome dinner.
Day 3, Saturday May 17
Today we capture the essence of Iceland on a tour of the Golden Circle. We see the majestic dual-folding Gullfoss waterfall, gaze upon the Great Geyser, pass close by the Eyjafjallajokull Volcano, (which has recently caused so much chaos with European air traffic) and peer into the watery depths of Keri volcanic crater. This evening we feast on Icelandic lobster at a local restaurant on our way back to the hotel.
Day 4, Sunday March 18
A day at leisure will allow us to explore the galleries and museums of Reyjavik, enjoy the tax-free shopping or pamper ourselves in a spa. Additionally, a variety of optional activities are available: from taking a snowmobile safari to the top of a glacier to watching the Northern Lights while relaxing in a ski lodge hot tub.
Day 5, Monday March 19
Today we tour the exotic, moonlike Reykjanes peninsula. Our first stop is Bessastadir, the official estate for Iceland’s President. Next we have the chance to bathe in the renowned Blue Lagoon, an azure pool of mineral-rich warm water amid a lava field. There are wonderful facilities to shower and change on site before we board our flight home.
