Description

Please join us for the Spring 2012 Lyon & Bendheim Alumni Lecture as Tufts welcomes back Robert Sterne, E73, AG75, director at Sterne, Kessler, Goldstein & Fox. The event will begin with a light reception, followed by remarks by Mr. Sterne and a Q & A session.

About our Lecturer:
Rob Sterne graduated Tufts with a BSEE (73) and MS (75) and then went to law school (JD, UMD, 77) at a time when electrical engineers almost never became attorneys. In 1978, at the age of 26, he walked away from his good job and founded his law firm, now called Sterne, Kessler, Goldstein & Fox, which is located in Washington, DC. From 3 people it has grown to be the 32nd largest intellectual property law firm practice in the US with over 340 people.

As one of the leading patent attorneys of the baby boomer generation, he has represented or been adverse to some of the most famous technology entrepreneurs, start-ups, mature companies, universities, governments and investors over the last 35 years.

He views his education at Tufts as pivotal to his professional success. It provided a highly diverse and stimulating educational environment that gave him the initial tools in technology, law and business that have allowed him to start and build a great law firm. He will share why his Tufts education has been such a benefit along with his insights and recommendations on how to achieve professional success.

The Lyon & Bendheim Alumni Lecture Series at Tufts was established by JB Lyon, A85, and Tom Bendheim, A85. Alumni lecturers are chosen because they are leaders who have repeatedly proven themselves with tremendous achievements at the highest levels in their respective fields. The series mission is to bring prominent and successful alumni to campus to share their wisdom and experience with students.
