Itinerary
Day 1 - Depart U.S. for Naples, Italy
Day 2 - Naples/Sorrento
Upon our arrival we will transfer to Sorrento and the Hotel Plaza Sorrento. Our Campus Director will lead an orientation walk through Sorrento to provide us with an introduction to our home for the week and the opportunity to experience its idyllic beauty. Tonight we will have the chance to get acquainted at a Welcome Reception and Dinner.

Day 3 - Positano/Amalfi/ Amalfi Coast
Today we will drive along the fabled Amalfi Coast, one of the most amazing Mediterranean shores, to experience the history and beauty of the Campania province. We will visit Positano, Italy’s most vertical town, and the charming village of Amalfi, where we will have lunch at a local restaurant.
Day 4 - Paestum/Salerno
ur day starts with a visit to a local farm where we will indulge in a tasting of famous mozzarella cheese produced from the milk of buffalo indigenous to the area. Continuing on to Paestum, we will see a variety of Greco-Roman ruins, including three well-preserved Doric temples. After being abandoned in the ninth century, this city was overtaken by forest and forgotten until the 18th century. During lunch at a restaurant in Paestum, we will have the opportunity to chat with local residents. On our return to Sorrento, we will drive through the lovely town of Salerno.

Day 5 - Naples
We will travel back in time with a visit to the Museo Archeologico Nazionale in Naples. Its collection of artwork and other objects from Herculaneum and Pompeii makes it one of the most important archaeological museums in the world. Next, we will take a walking tour of the historic center to see the Piazza Plebiscito, Palazzo Reale and San Francesco di Paola.
Day 6 - Pompeii/ Herculaneum
On the fateful day when Mount Vesuvius erupted in A.D. 79, the ancient seaside town of Herculaneum was preserved by mudflows, while Pompeii was covered with ash. Today we will marvel at the treasures found at both sites, from the remarkable houses and baths at Herculaneum to Pompeii’s renowned museum, well-preserved frescoes, and mosaics. We will enjoy lunch at a restaurant next to the archaeological site of Pompeii. Dinner will be served at a restaurant in Sorrento.
Day 7 - Isle of Capri
Today’s excursion will take us to the Isle of Capri. Known as the Isle of Dreams, Capri is home to grottoes and blissful scenes situated majestically in a crystal clear sea. The day is free for independent pursuits such as exploring the main town of Capri and meandering along its unique side streets. We will enjoy local cuisine together at lunch.

Day 8 - Sorrento
We will spend a day at leisure to continue exploring, shopping or relaxing. Tonight, we will meet for a farewell reception, graduation ceremony and a farewell dinner.
Day 9 - Return to the U.S.
Today we will depart Sorrento for our return flights to the U.S.
