Join us and discover Argentina and Chile on our 10-night journey that takes us on an exploration of the most scenic regions of these two countries as we travel from Buenos Aires, Argentina, to Santiago, Chile. We will immerse ourselves in the European-influenced ambience of Buenos Aires; explore diverse neighborhoods from fashionable Recoleta to La Boca, a colorful Italian harbor district. We continue to Iguazú Falls and its dramatic, thundering cascades that form the border with Brazil, and on to Bariloche, the gateway to Nahuel Huapi National Park, an enormous expanse of pristine Andean beauty. We will visit Andean lakes as we make our way to Chile, with stops at a working ranch for an exciting rodeo, and conclude our journey in Santiago. Here we will explore the Chilean capital, which includes a visit to a unique enclave of artists and craftsmen.

Itinerary

Day 1: In Transit
Depart for Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Day 2: Buenos Aires
Upon arrival we will transfer and check in to our hotel the Caesar Park Buenos Aires. This evening we will attend a Welcome Reception.

 

Day 3: Buenos Aires
Today we will discover the charm of this bustling cosmopolitan city with visits to the Plaza de Mayo with its famed Casa Rosada, the Metropolitan Cathedral, Colon Theater and other historic sites. We will visit local neighborhoods, including La Boca, a colorful Italian harbor district and art colony; Palermo, an area known for its lovely parks; and fashionable Recoleta, the city’s cultural center.

Day 4: Buenos Aires
Today is at leisure to explore or relax on your own.

Day 5: Iguazú Falls
Today we fly to Iguazú Falls. Upon arrival, we will check in to the Sheraton Iguazú Resort & Spa. This afternoon we will visit the park’s most dramatic section, the Devil’s Throat, where 14 falls plummet over a 330-foot drop, and view this magnificent display of nature’s power from a series of catwalks above the falls.

 

Day 6: Iguazú Falls/Bariloche
Our exploration continues today with a walk along the Upper Circuit where we will experience the magnificence of the falls and the lush beauty of the surrounding rain forest. This afternoon we fly to San Carlos de Bariloche and check in to the Llao Llao Hotel & Resort.

Day 7: Bariloche
As Argentina’s oldest national park, Nahuel Huapi National Park is home to 2 million acres of primal beauty. We will drive along the coast of Lake Nahuel Huapi, the largest lake in the park, and admire the stunning blue water, peaceful lagoons, thundering waterfalls, picturesque islands and the unforgettable sight of the Andes standing majestically behind the water.

Day 8: Andean Lakes
Today we embark on a once-in-a-lifetime journey across the Andean Lakes where we will witness the pristine beauty of Patagonia, and the rivers, waterfalls and volcanoes of the Andes Mountains from Argentina to Chile. We will conclude near Puerto Varas, where we will check in to the Hotel Patagónico.

Day 9: Puerto Varas
Today we travel to a traditional Chilean ranch, meet Chilean cowboys, called huasos, and learn about their traditions. Then we will watch an exciting rodeo, where teams of two huasos and their horses ride laps around the arena, working between them to correctly stop a calf on massive cushions.

Day 10: Santiago
Today we transfer to Puerto Montt, fly to Santiago, and check in to the Radisson Plaza Santiago Hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure.

Day 11: Santiago
In Santiago we will discover the historic, scenic and cultural treasures of Chile’s capital city, see towering skyscrapers, and take in views of the Andes Mountains. We will conclude at the artisan village of Los Graneros del Alba and spend some time browsing the antique and handicraft shops. Tonight we will meet for a Farewell Reception.

Day 12: Santiago
Spend the day relaxing or enjoy some last-minute sightseeing. Tonight, we transfer to the Santiago airport for the return flight to our gateway city.

Day 13: In Transit
Arrive in our gateway city.
