Description
Tisch College and the Tufts Lawyers Association (TLA) invite you to join in the organizations’ celebration of the “Year of the Citizen Lawyer.” Each year, the organizations honor a Tufts alumnus and citizen lawyer whose work supports the global community through public service, and sets a standard for the legal profession’s role in civic engagement and pro bono activities.
This year’s Citizen Lawyer of the Year Award will be given to Elliot Lobel, A70, A07P, A11P, AG08P. As a member of the Tisch Board of Advocates, Lobel has been a driving force behind the Citizen Lawyer Initiative, and his work managing the pro bono project is a true reflection of the Citizen Lawyer motto: “Ethics. Respect. Compassion. Service.” Read more about the Tufts Citizen Lawyer program here.
The pilot project for the Tufts Lawyers-Tisch College Pro Bono program provides support to LIFT Somerville (formerly National Student Partnerships). Through this pilot, lawyers provide Somerville residents with invaluable legal services from combating injustices in housing and managing financial crises to navigating the immigration system and escaping domestic violence.
Join us at the offices of Burns & Levinson LLP for as we celebrate Elliot Lobel’s contributions to the world community, and stay for an evening of hors d’oeuvres, refreshments and networking immediately after the award ceremony.
