Description

Please join Tufts Alumni Chicago for a special evening with Sol Gittleman, Alice and Nathan Gantcher University Professor and former Senior Vice President and Provost of Tufts University. Sol will be joined by his wife, Robyn, Director of the Experimental College.

The debate about who should be welcomed to this country has raged from the moment the first pilgrim set foot on Plymouth Rock. Featured guest Sol Gittleman will give a talk during the reception entitled American Immigration from 1620 to the Present: Some Things Never Change. In this discussion, Sol acknowledges that, as Americans, we have a short memory of our migratory past, forgetting that we are a nation comprised of immigrants. He challenges us to remember that except for Native Americans, everyone in America traces a heritage that started somewhere else.
