Description

Join us for "A Conversation About Atul Gawande's Being Mortal," at the Commonwealth Club of San Francisco, with Patrick Arbore, director of the Center for Elderly Suicide Prevention, and Karyn Skultety, vice president of Health Services at the Institute on Aging. Gawande's book tells the story of a physician learning how to think about death and dying in the context of being a healer and a doctor and Dr. Arbore and Dr. Skultety will explore concerns about life, death, loss, grief and the context and meaning of the recently passed California legislation legalizing physician assisted suicide in California.

We'll meet up for the networking reception at 5:30 to chat about the book among ourselves, and then the Commonwealth Club program starts at 6:00.

Register with code TUFTSU for $5 tickets (normally $20 for Commonwealth Club nonmembers).

Parking/directions: Commonwealth Club's temporary location at 555 Post is 5 blocks from Powell Street BART. The Post & Taylor Priority Public Parking is right next door at 569 Post Street, and the Union Square Garage is one block away.
