One Time Opportunities
Dinners are held in February and March every year at the President’s House on the Medford/Somerville campus. Alumni interact one-on-one with members of the senior class and share tips on career networking and managing your life after Tufts!
Career Panels, Career Days
Career-related events are held on the Medford campus throughout the academic year in such fields as finance, communications, engineering, nonprofits, public health, and consulting. Alumni share advice with students on choosing a major, exploring different career paths, applying for graduate school, interviewing for a job, and conducting an effective job search.
In partnership with the Jonathan M. Tisch College of Citizenship and Public Service, we offer a broad range of activities that celebrate, educate, and engage Tufts alumni who are interested in building stronger communities and societies. Two of our regional chapters, Boston and New York, have formed committees which meet regularly to plan, develop, and implement new alumni programs and expand upon existing initiatives. Additionally, other regional chapters plan one-time community service projects throughout the year:
- Boston Active Citizens
- Tufts Active Citizens of New York (TACNY)
- Other regional projects
Foster Children’s Holiday Party
Held annually in December on the Medford campus since 1987, this event brings the holiday season to Boston-area foster children and their families. Volunteers are needed to assist with the party, donate a new, unwrapped gift, or make a financial contribution.
#GivingTuesday was founded in 2012 by New York’s 92nd Street Y in partnership with the United Nations Foundation. It is the Tuesday after Thanksgiving—on the heels of Black Friday and CyberMonday—and serves as a global day dedicated to giving back and supporting non-profit organizations. Much of the marketing and engagement is in the social media space.
This year, through a strong volunteer corps, Tufts is hoping to engage as many alumni, parent and friend volunteers as possible to share broadly across their own social media networks the impact and importance of giving at Tufts.
