Tufts Alumni leaves lasting impression on the Hill
October 11, 2010
On Sunday, October 3, alumni, friends, staff, and members of the Tufts Alumni Council gathered to dedicate the Tufts Alumni Sesquicentennial Footprint and Patio. "As members of the Tufts Alumni Council, we dedicate this Sesquicentennial Footprint to the alumni who led our organization over the past 150 years, and to the generations of alumni volunteers and leaders of the future," said Barbara Clarke, J88, president of the Tufts University Alumni Association. "May this space always remind us of the important role that loyal, engaged graduates play in sustaining our alma mater and our alumni association."
Sondra Szymczak, J59, co-chair of the Sesquicentennial Committee, added, "Over 100,00 living graduates, along with those who trod these paths since 1852, have been enlightened, and have taken that light [on the Hill] to the four corners of the globe, serving mankind, achieving greatness and bringing honor to Tufts."
Cider was handed to the attendees for a toast as chair of the Sesquicentennial Committee Dan Coleman, A73, and Tim Brooks, executive director of alumni relations, unveiled the footprint to applause.
