Recognizing outstanding alumni at the 2017 Alumni Awards

May 03, 2017

The Tufts Alumni Association presented the 2017 Alumni Awards on Thursday, April 20, in Breed Memorial Hall to 10 honorees representing five schools: School of Arts and Sciences, School of Dental Medicine, the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, School of Medicine, and the Jonathan M. Tisch College of Citizenship and Public Service. The event program is available to view.

Started in 1941, the distinguished alumni awards recognize alumni for service to their profession, communities, and to Tufts. In 2010, five categories were introduced: Young Alumni Achievement, Young Alumni Service, Distinguished Achievement, Distinguished Service, and Active Citizenship and Public Service.

David B. Meyers, A96, president of the Tufts Alumni Association, and Nancy E. Pinn, J88, chair of the Awards Committee, read citations for the honorees and presented them with a certificate.

After receiving their award, each honoree offered personal remarks about their career path and professional pursuits that were shaped by their time during and since Tufts. Please click through the photo album below and watch the speeches.

Nominations are now open for the 2018 Alumni Awards. Please view category descriptions and submit your nomination!
