Honoring alumni at the 13th Annual P.T. Barnum Awards

June 20, 2017

The 13th Annual PT Barnum Award Ceremony, From the Hill to Hollywood, took place on the evening of June 13, 2017, honoring four alumni who have excelled in their careers since their time at Tufts. The P.T. Barnum Series started in 2005 to celebrate the achievements of Tufts alumni in entertainment, arts, and media. The annual event celebrates alumni from around the world, and this year’s honorees come from both sides of stage and screen, including multi-talented artists who produce, direct, perform, host, and even dramaturg. This year’s honorees included dramaturg and producer Julie Felise Dubiner, A91; arranger, producer, and performer Deke Sharon, A91; documentary filmmaker and travel television host Justine Shapiro, J85; and director Joel Bishoff, A83.

The talented Hank Azaria, A85, H16, was our emcee for the evening and helped in introducing the four honorees to about 100 alumni, faculty, and staff at the Creative Artists Agency in Los Angeles. The evening was filled with Tufts spirit as each honoree shared stories on their times at Tufts and beyond.
