Tufts Alumni Notables
The creators of eBay and Blogger. The singer who saved the Negro spiritual. The greatest political intellect from New York since Alexander Hamilton. The inventor of Mrs. Butterworth’s Pancake Syrup. All Tufts alumni.
It will come as no surprise to the more than 100,000 members worldwide of the Tufts University Alumni Association that some pretty remarkable people have graduated from their alma mater. Now, in honor of the association’s 150th anniversary, TUAA’s Sesquicentennial Committee has developed a registry of more than 400 celebrated graduates.
“It’s a great collection of alumni success stories,” says Dan Coleman, A73, chair of the Sesquicentennial Committee, “inspirational, and highly impressive. Alumni everywhere should feel a great sense of pride.”
Each “notable” was nominated by a member of the Tufts community, researched with help from University Archives, and reviewed by Tufts alumni, faculty and staff before being selected for inclusion in this register. If you wish to nominate a Tufts graduate to the register of notable Tufts alumni, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. In the meantime, we invite you to take a moment to meet a few of the fascinating and accomplished people who have come from the Hill. Watch for more Tufts Alumni Notables throughout the year.
