Tufts Oral History Project

A romantic stroll around the Rez, compulsory chapel, the Tufts golf course, chemistry lab and a 25-cents-an-hour job at Eaton Library: these are some of the many memories of the first graduates interviewed for the Tufts Oral History Project.

As America struggled with the Depression, Tufts undergraduates discovered their capacity for persistence, resourcefulness and frugality in a college community that valued tradition, achievement and friendship.

The complete taped interviews and their transcripts are preserved in Tufts Digital Collections and Archives.
